Cruz Construction's process starts with a phone call, or email, requesting a free estimate. After contacting Cruz Construction, one of our trained estimators will come out to your property to give you a bid on your asphalt driveway or parking lot. Once we get the written authorization (email or signed proposal) from you, the work can begin. The majority of the work we do each year comes in the form of driveway removal and replacements. Our process for removing and replacing asphalt driveways is rather simple and starts with the dig out.

In order to make room for your new driveway, your old driveway must be removed. One of our skilled operators will dig out and haul away your existing driveway, making sure not to damage your yard or landscaping in the process. The next step involves making a sub-cut and removing the old base material (if necessary). Over time, the base material under your driveway starts to break down. Freezing and thawing cycles can also have an adverse impact on the base material causing bad soil to "pump" up into the base material. This is very common, especially in areas with heavy clay. An asphalt driveway is only as strong as the material it is sitting on, so base material is not a place to cut corners. After the sub-cut has been made, a minimum of 4" of type 2 aggregate rock is installed and compacted. Drainage is also set at this time, making sure that water goes where it should.
